Ig's are not good for a family with small children that is not familiar with the breed. They have fragile legs that are prone to break.
Although this breed is very loyal and love able, they are FRAGILE. broken bones are a concern. Should never be ranked #1 family dog!
Italian greyhounds tend to do much better with adults or older children. They are a breed that demands almost constant attention. They are notoriously hard to housebreak. They are also very active and tend to break easily. The breed tends toward a lot of dental problems early in life requiring expensive dentals and extractions. They are a wonderful dog for those that want to be "parents" to their dogs Empty nesters and units of one or more adults
No! This is a terrible breed for families with small children. It is unlikely that an IG will harm a child, they generally have a very nice and forgiving nature, which is what I assume this is discussing. But, the converse is not true - small children can hurt an IG!
